Short city tour through San Jóse. Drive to Cartago and visiting the ´Basilika Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles´.

Botanical Garden Lankester
The botanical garden Lankester lies close to Cartago and is a research centre of the University of Costa Rica.

Archaeological site Guayabo Monument
In the National Monument Guayabo near the volcano Turrialba one can see the partially dug out ruins of a precolombian town which was settled between 1000 before and 1400 after the beginning A.D.

A hike in the rain forest Los Robles
From the hotel ´Savegre Lodge´ we make a round tour through the primeval forests ´Los Robles (the oaks)´ and ´La Quebrada (the gorge)´

Boat trip to Corcovado
To the National Park Corcovado on the peninsula Osa at the Pacific coast one comes only by boat. From the river port Sierpe to the Punta Marenco Lodge these are 25 km the river down and along the coast of the Pacific.

After the arrival in the Punta Marenco Lodge we go down to the beach and make a short hike.

A hike in the Corcovado Nationa Ppark
Quite early in the morning at 6:30 oclock the boat should bring us 7 km up to the Corcovado N.P. Ranger Station.

Isla de Caño and Picknick at the beach
By the speedboat 20 km from the Punta Marenco Lodge to the Isla de Caño. There snorkeling and a short hike. Then 20 km back to the Playa San Josecito. Swimming and Picknick on the beach. Along the coast 4 km by the boat to the Punta Marenco Lodge.

Interstop in Volcán
The Panama province Chiriqui on the border to Costa Rica is a horse country. In the small town of Volcán there are several horse parades in the year. The last in the year, the Cabalgata, takes place on the 3rd of November, the national holiday.

A hike on the Quetzal Trail
One of the nicest hiking trails of Panama is the Quetzal Trail from Cerro Punta to Boquete.

On the Lost Waterfalls Trail
In the next day it doesn´t rain and the sun shines. Today the make the ´Waterfall Tour´ near by Boquete.

Drive to Panama City
Panama City (in Spanish ´Ciudad de Panamá´) is the capital of Panama. The town lies at the Pacific coast, directly to the east of the Panama Canal. Today the town is an internationally meaning Bank and Offshore centre.

Visiting the Ruin Town
Panamá la Vieja is the ruin town of the oldest Spanish town foundation on the Pacific coast. In 1671 the town was destroyed by the raid of Henry Morgan and was moved afterwards in the today´s city.

Visiting the Old Town
´Casco Viejo´, also ´Casco Antiguo´ or ´San Felipe´, the Old Town of Panama City, was established in 1673 after the destruction of ´Panamá Viejo´ as a new settlement. The quarter was explained in 1997 to the UNESCO-world cultural heritage.

In the Visitor Center of the Panama Canal
The Panama Canal has a total length of about 82 km. He connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean.

A hike on the Camino de Cruces
The ´Camino de Cruces´ is one of two ways which the Spanish Conquistadors used to bring the robbed treasures of South America from the Pacific across the isthmus to the Atlantic. He was even paved.
